Pope Francis' will regarding his funeral

Pope Francis, born December 17, 1936, was the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 2013 until his death on April 21, 2025.He was the first pope from the Jesuits, the first Latin American, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere, and the first born or raised outside of Europe since the 8th-century Syrian pope Gregory III.He will be buried on April 26, 2025.

Pope Francis will be the first Pope in over 100 years to be buried outside the Vatican.
